Let me ask you this: if an entire aussie rules football team decided to visit the resort would you like to be their mood manager? *presses laugh button*

Morning folks!
AV have you heard Mcphee's duet with Andrea Bocelli 'Can't help falling in love with you'?

Bear sent it to me and it's a very lovely version
She sounds so Embarassed

the Bear SG

yeah.. i got an email 'warning' at work for that Laughing

like i care

i think it's because i've been sending giant files around through the email Twisted Evil

the Bear SG

in other news, the idiots in the army called yesterday asking me to go for my reservist on 16th?

i log on to their system and there is nothing in there!

Strange. We're not seeing any of that 'plundered' oil making its way into the domestic supply and helping to moderate gas prices.

Oh, I forgot: Dubya's in the pockets of Big Oil and an oilman himself, so there's no incentive for him to keep gas prices down. Laughing

(Price check: $2.99/gal. at the pumps this evening.)

Well, once I received a letter stating that I had applied for deferment and that I would no longer need to turn up for ICT that year.

The thing is.... I didn't apply for a deferment.

I quickly called up the NSmen hotline, sorted things out with the operator, and got him to agree with me that a colossal screw-up had occurred which could have caused me to unintentionally go AWOL had I taken the letter at face value.

As it turned out, the letter was meant for someone else altogether.

The scary thing is.... that letter was signed by a MAJ. Shocked

av98m SG

I still can't believe he commuted libby's jail term Mad

av98m SG

fuck, I rushed to the office early this morning for an 8:30am meeting called by some sociopath, ........................only to realise I mixed up my dates and the meeting is on Friday! Grrrrr... Mad

av98m SG

And she looks so Embarassed too.

av98m SG

Sometimes I wonder if I've never been called up because of some colossal mistake. Laughing

But checking with my other buddies and people who ord'ed from the same unit a long time before us, none have ever been called back. So I guess its true what our officers told us: if we kena called back that means war is about to break out liao

Meia Gisborn SG

Or that there are four silent protestors staging a peaceful demonstration outside a government building, and the entire SAF is being mobilized to help the SPF haul them in. Mr. Green

hisoka SG

they even got the name and ic number wrong? Shocked

fudgester SG

My name and IC was stated in the letter.

But apparently, after an investigation, they said that it was meant for someone else.

Just picked up a copy of the Ghost In The Shell: Solid State Society Limited Collector's Edition DVD box set that was released by Bandai USA today. The set comes with the movie DVD, another DVD containing a boatload of extras, and the CD movie soundtrack by (woohoo!) Yoko Kanno, all housed in a sturdy and attractive aluminium keepcase.

The MSRP of the box set is $30, but Best Buy (a nationwide media/electronics retail chain) has it on sale for $13 for three days following its release. Frankly, I would have paid $13 just for the soundtrack CD.

That's one heck of a killer deal.

hisoka SG

oh well, glad you brought it up otherwiswe poor nsf would have got it good

av98m SG

$13!!!!!!!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

You know how much I paid for the soundtrack alone? Mad (but ok lah, that was the japanese first press edition)

The fucked thing is that our local customs will stop DVD shipments Mad Mad Mad
